28th Annual BBSA Conference and Gala
Friday, November 20, 2009
New York City
Overview:
Initiated in 1981, the BBSA Conference is the longest running student-organized event at Columbia Business School and grows with importance each year.
The 28th Annual BBSA Conference, “Blurring Boundaries: The Changing Paradigms of Race, Politics and Business,” is a reflection of the unprecedented times we now face. New societal constructs are developing both domestically and abroad that are changing perceptions of racial inequities, wealth disparity, fiscal responsibility, environmental stewardship, and our role in planning for future generations. This conference will explore the ways in which these shifting paradigms manifest themselves within our society and the opportunities that arise as a result.
The conference will consist of morning and afternoon panels with industry leaders, a sit-down luncheon, keynote addresses and an open community Town Hall discussion, followed by an evening black-tie gala celebration. Our panel and Town Hall topics include:
- The Business Behind Developing Underserved Communities
- Leveling the Playing Field: Addressing the Racial Wealth Gap
- Paths to Success: Career Versatility in Today’s Global Economy
- Town Hall Community Discussion: Leadership and Workplace Diversity
We hope to see you at the 28th Annual BBSA Conference and Gala!
